Troop Meeting - reminder

Reminder to everyone that tomorrow's meeting is at 1:00 because the Masons are hosting a "breakfast with Santa" in the morning.

We are all invited to enjoy the breakfast as well.

This months topic is First Aid and we expect to complete almost all of the requirements for that badge.

Holiday Walk / Light the Tower

Today is the day!!!!

Santa parade starts at 3:30 at the 484 American Legion post on Sutton road. We'll meet with the other scouts around 3:15.

Caroling starts at 6:45 at Tower Optical on the corner of Campus and Beechmont. We'll start to gather at 6:30.

Service Unit Roller Skating Party is TONIGHT!

YOU’RE INVITED!

Hello, volunteers and families!

We would like to invite you and your girl to attend a short, presentation and Q&A session to learn more about the Girl Scout Bronze, Silver, and Gold Awards. All three awards give girls the chance to do big things while supporting an issue they care about. She might plant a community garden at her school or inspire others to eat healthy foods for her Bronze, advocate for animal rights for her Silver, or build a career network that encourages girls to become scientists and engineers for her Gold. Whatever she chooses, she’ll inspire others (and yourself).

Also a given: as you earn one of Girl Scouts’ highest awards, you’ll change your corner of the world—and beyond. The possibilities are endless. Want to see what Bronze, Silver, and Gold Award Girl Scouts have done to earn these important recognitions? For inspiration, check out examples via Girl Scouts of the USA’s Map It: Girls Changing the World.

Girl Scout Gold Award recipients could receive scholarship money to certain colleges and universities, enter a branch of the U.S. military at a higher rank, and open many more doors for the future.

Informational sessions will be held at the following times and location (please note that if you cannot attend the session in your area, you are more than welcome to attend the other session)

Carnival is 5:30 - 6:30 We will take turns running our game and everyone will have time to play games - it's a fundraiser for the troops - bring LOTS of quarters!!!! All Families and Friends invited. Dress in costume is very fun but optional.

Re: GS Troop 41683 - meetings set!

Hi everyone!!!

Reminder to all that THIS SATURDAY is the first meeting!

Please bring along the information you typically put on a medical release form - if you want to print out the start-of-year forms in advance, they're attached to this email.

We need at least one parent to stay at this meeting, and we also need parents to consider officially joining the scouts as adult members. 

• The council requires that we have two official leaders (which we have - myself and Cathy Picklo)
• We need to have enough registered and background-checked adults present to meet the required adult:child ratio at all events.
• for our current official troop size, two is enough, but we are expecting a few more scouts to join
• Cathy and I will not always be able to both attend every single thing - I'd hate to have to cancel an event for this reason!
• The troop will pay admission for the adults who are there to fulfill the ratio requirements, but not others.
• if the cost of the additional registration is a deterrent, we have resources.

Also - if you have any ideas or connections to fun/educational/interesting events or organizations around town, bring information with you. The girls will be voting on what sorts of activities they'd like to do.

Finally - I will be going to the girl scout shop on Friday during my lunch break. If anyone needs your girl's uniform or anything else, let me know and I'll pick it up for you.
